Horizontal Line- Test 1
Technical Analysis:
In the 4-hour chart USD/JPY is currently trading at around 152.61, sharply up for the day, roughly 221 pips above the daily open. A bullish 20 SMA runs above the longer one, in line with the dominant upward momentum. The 20 SMA stands at 151.59, offering nearby dynamic support, while the 100 SMA is also bullish, advancing below the shorter one at 150.83. The RSI (14) holds firm in overbought territory at 72.35 and continues edging higher, keeping the bullish bias intact even as it approaches the 75 threshold that often precedes corrective pauses. Meanwhile, 14-period Momentum remains positive, albeit easing from recent highs, suggesting buyers still hold the upper hand but with a moderating pace of advance.
The near-term technical tone favors additional gains while price holds above the rising 20 SMA, with any shallow dips likely to find support first at 151.59 and then at 150.83. With spot significantly closer to overhead resistance than to static supports, a decisive break above 153.33 would open the door to further upside. Conversely, a sustained move below 151.59 would undermine the immediate bullish pressure and expose 150.83; once USD/JPY falls below 149.37 the slide can continue towards 146.46. USD/JPY faces immediate resistance at 153.33, while support is at 149.37 and 146.46.
